The Sahara Cup is over for another year, with Pakistan, led by their new captain, Aamir Sohail, winning the series by a convincing 4 games to one. both teams played less than full-strength squads, due to injuries and the Commonwealth games. India flew in two memebers of the commonwealth games squad to bolster the squad for the last weekend but still came up short against a resolute Pakistani team. The series, played in excellent weather, featured some exciting cricket, and the first centuries in the three year history of the competition, first to Shadid Afridi, and in the last game, for India's captain Azharuddin. Inzamam-ul-Haq was awarded man-of-the series for his consistent run scoring.
