According to an insider, chief selector Wasim Bari read out the 26 probables. No major objection was raised.

The selection committee is expected to meet next week in Lahore to select the 14-man team for the Canadian trip.

In another development, the selection committee was informed that Wasim Akram and Saqlain Mushtaq would join the Sahara Cup team after two matches. The selectors were told that since Lancashire and Surrey had chances to win the county championships, Wasim and Saqlain were not being released.

Waqar Younis and Mushtaq Ahmad have arrived in Lahore and are available for selection.
