Scorecard
Sri Lanka A's bowlers had another hard day against New Zealand A, who scored 306 for 7, with most batsmen building on their starts. However, Dinuka Hettiarachchi salvaged some pride for his side with a four-wicket haul, and conceded only 69 runs in 34 overs.
Hettiarachchi got the breakthrough for his team after How and Bell (32) had put on 76 runs for the first wicket. While Bell was dismissed, How powered along to 50 off just 66 balls before Fernando trapped him in front. Fernando had another success a while later, when he got rid of Peter Fulton for 60, but was expensive in his 15 overs, giving away close to six an over. By then, Peter Fulton and Hamish Marshall had put on 95 runs, and Marshall had tonked 65 off just 87 balls. Hettiarachchi bowled him, and claimed Kyle Mills as well, but New Zealand A had put on enough runs to give their opponents yet another hard time.
