Pakistan v Zimbabwe 1998-99

At Gujranwala, November 20

15-Apr-2000
At Gujranwala, November 20. Pakistan won by four wickets. Toss: Pakistan.
Aamir Sohail played a captain's knock to lead Pakistan to a welcome success, after four successive one-day defeats. On an easy-paced pitch, Johnson scored 74 and Zimbabwe reached a promising 116 for one. But spinners Saqlain Mushtaq and Shahid Afridi took seven wickets between them, restricting Zimbabwe to 237. Then Sohail ensured victory, playing responsibly for 91 in 105 balls, with nine fours and one six. Though he departed at 141 for four, he had done enough for Yousuf Youhana to complete the job with an unbeaten 55. In seven Test and one-day innings against Zimbabwe, Youhana had only once failed to pass 50. The game was briefly interrupted when the crowd threw stones after Afridi's dismissal.
Man of the Match: Aamir Sohail.
