Sangram Singh's unbeaten 92 steered Himachal Pradesh to a four-wicket win over Saurashtra at Dharmasala. After being bowled out for 140 in their first innings, conceding a lead of 128, HP managed to turn things around when they bowled the second time. Ashok Thakur, the medium-pacer, and Kuldeep Diwan, the left-arm spinner, snapped up six wickets between them as Saurashtra were kept down to 153. Left to chase 282, HP were put on course with a 119-run stand between Sangram, and Maninder Bisla, before Virender Sharma's breezy 54 sealed the issue.

Orissa gained two vital points, buy virtue of taking the first-innings lead, as the game at Palaghat petered out to a draw. Having gained a slender 10-run lead in the first-innings, the Orissa bowlers kept Kerala down to 149 for 8 and thwarted all attempts at an outright victory. Shiv Sundar Das, the former Indian opener, helped Orissa gain the lead with a patient 141. Sunil Oasis was the most successful bowler in Kerala's first innings, with 4 for 39, but despite a middle-order collapse Orissa edged ahead.

Jharkhand handed J&K a thrashing at Jamshedpur and wrapped up the game within three days. J&K were always on the back foot after being bundled out for just 79 in their first innings. Abid Nabi then snapped up four wickets in the J&K second innings with only Manzoor Dar making a fighting 60 as they were bowled out for 179. Sunil Kumar had put Jharkhand in a strong position on the second day, and they needed to chase just 11 to wrap up the game.

They put up a better show in the second innings, gaining a lead of 101, but Vidarbha managd to reach the target with six wickets to spare.
